Hi all - thanks for the big response to the 'Let's get drunk' email!

Fielding to launch Paranormal Channel
Television paranormal guru Yvette Fielding is launching her own channel, she has revealed.
The former Blue Peter presenter - who has spent recent years hunting ghosts for ITV's Most Haunted - said the channel would begin broadcasting on Sky on June 9.
The Paranormal Channel is operated by Monster Pictures Limited, a company owned by Fielding and Karl Beattie, her cameraman husband.
"We are putting on air, on June 9, the very first paranormal channel in Great Britain," said Fielding, speaking on last night's Paul O'Grady Show.
"[It will be] available on Sky [and feature] anything from Big Foot, the Loch Ness Monster, UFOs, the Bermuda Triangle, through to ghosts. We are putting it on 24 hours a day, so just tune in and enjoy."
Paul Mady, who has been developing the channel for Monster Pictures, said it was looking for carriage on other TV services, though talks are at an early stage. Initially it will be available as a free-to-view channel through satellite only.
Mady told Digital Spy that the channel would feature original programming from Fielding's Antix Productions as well as recent and older archive material.
"It is very much about covering the whole genre, independent of what they are doing for LivingTV and ITV," he said. The channel will initially air blocks of repeated programming.
"As we build up a following we will increase the hours of new programming and increase original programming."
The channel's position in the Sky electronic programme guide - which it expects to be in the entertainment section - will be confirmed in May.

C.P.I. had been Facebook'ed
Yep, Facebook. The webpage that slowly takes over your life, dares you to delete it when you get bored but you just can't bring yourself to do it.
C.P.I. are a bit late to the Facebook scene but we are now finally there (unfortunately!). The group is closed so members only I'm afraid.
We will be able to pass on information, show reports and post images safely between members. If you would like an invite, email me at the usual address.
Paranormal News
If you come across any paranormal news that you would like to share with the group (and with the others who read this excellent blog!) then please email me with a link and I will add it on here.
Paranormal Investigator - technical assistant
As C.P.I. is slowly obtaining more ways to collect data via scientific means I am finding it more difficult to set up various experiments before an investigation starts.
If you would like to help me out then please email me via the website. Position includes finding out new methods in the scientific field, setting up various experiments, data collecting and report writing.
I can already see floods of people wanting to help ;)
CPI is getting bigger and BIGGER!
Ever since we re-opened new memberships C.P.I. has steadily grown. We are now at around 23 members so it's looking likely that we will not be taking on any new applications in the near future.
If you do have a friend who would like to join then please let me know as soon as possible, otherwise they can always come along as a guest.
We will hopefully have another group meeting soon so we can all meet each other.

Michelham Priory
Money for Michelham Priory is now due - can you please forward it to me asap?
I have some exciting scientific experiments lined up for this investigation - made by my very self! I am hoping it will shed some light on any activity that occurs during the many seances we conduct during investigations.
We have a nice small team going to Michelham so here's hoping we have an excellent investigation. Have yet to have one there yet - let's hope I'm 6th time lucky :) (or is it 7th visit now???)

Bolebroke Investigation
Thanks to those that attended the Bolebroke investigation. It was a shame that not much happened but the few things that did occur happened to other groups at different times which is positive.
I will type up the report over the next few days (as I have been signed off sick and am bored stoopid!).
Hope you all got back safely and see you in a few weeks time for Michelham.

Valentines Mansion
Thanks to Phil for finding out that Valentines Mansion will be re-opening their doors to paranormal groups next year.
Still undecided if we will return after our last visit, which didn't provide much in the way of paranormal activity - we shall see.
If you would be interested in returning then drop me an email - if enough of you want to go then we can look into pricing and availability.

Sussex castle investigation
Not long now until our investigation this Friday. A BIG thanks to everyone for paying so promptly - makes my job a lot easier.
I have some experiments planned for this investigation - team leaders will be notified on what I have in store.
Can we all please be at the venue for 7:45 so we can start on time at 8:15 - 8:30 -- I look forward to seeing you all then at what promises to be an excellent venue and investigation.

Orbs!
Being probably the only person in the group who thinks that most (if not all) orb photos are not paranormal I thought it would be a good idea to show you a webpage that explains it all!
It's only a couple of pages and worth a read. It also shows a few photos that can't be explained so you can make a comparison when you next take a photo with a hundred orbs in it.
The author also explains how to make a hood for your camera lens which should help eliminate the 'dust' photos.

Lost Crown - Ghost Hunting Adventure for PC
A PC game has just been released which has you using ghosthunting gadgets such as night-vision cameras and E.V.P. to uncover secrets in a seaside town on England's east coast.
Have only just started playing but it seems ok so far. For a more in-depth review please click here.

Pena Palace - Portugal
During a visit to Portugal for work I visited Pena Palace which is situated in Sintra (nr. Lisbon). Their have been reports of paranormal activity in the Palace.
It is high up in the hills and you drive up a windy narrow road to get there. Certainly fits the bill for a haunted house!
The fog in one of the photos are clouds - that's how high it is.
If I win the lottery then we are gonna do an investigation there!

Ghost Finders camera - perfect for Most Haunted?
Article: 'Soldier ghost' caught on camera
Old news but still worth a look...
...a group of amateur film-makers believe they may have proof that ghosts really do exist after one of them caught something strange on camera.
Brighton Sealife Centre
Thanks to all those who have put their names down for this investigation - we have had a great response.
The date is booked in and I will email you all nearer the time with plan of action. I have 2 spaces available and then I will have to close the investigation.
Please let me know asap if you would like to attend.

Online book: The sceptic's guide to the paranormal
I found a rather interesting online book whilst surfing the web for some paranormal news. The book entitled 'The sceptic's guide to the paranormal' covers topics ranging from crop circles, psychic readings, ghosts and many, many more.
The author, Lynne Kelly, has written this book to debunk the claims of anything paranormal.
I found it a good read. It is quite long but you can always jump to the topics that interest you.
Anyway, just thought I would share:
Article: Psychic evicts council house poltergeist
A council has paid £60 for a medium to exorcise a poltergeist from a tenant's home...
Paranormal Gear - New IR Flashlight

For Immediate Release
"New IR Flashlight Captures Attention of Paranormal Community"
Surprise, Arizona, March 2, 2008 - The paranormal community is taking interest in a new piece of equipment designed to assist with gathering evidence during investigations.
According to Bryan Abel, the inventor of the IR (Infrared) flashlight (see picture above), "this flashlight is a must for shooting night video or photography; the combination of IR technology and flashlight make it great to add just enough light in a room or shoot down a long hallway so that the field investigators can increase their chances of catching movement."
Features of the flashlight include the following:
1. Three power settings: one LED, three LEDs, or all six LEDs. Each leg holds three AA batteries for a minimum of three and a maximum of nine batteries. The more batteries, the longer the usage time.
2. The maximum usage is approximately 12 to 80+ hours depending on what setting you are using and how many batteries you have installed.
3. A red low power LED indicator that will flash when the batteries need to be replaced.
4. The three legs fold in together for easy handheld operation, or with a push of a button, they open up to the tripod position as shown.
5. The head pivots for multiple angles from straight up to a slightly down position.
Ghost Adventures lead investigator, and founder of GAC, Zak Bagans, is purchasing three to five of the new flashlights that were introduced at the recent Goldfield Hotel Live Ghost Hunt sponsored by GAC which took place in Goldfield, Nevada, on February 7 - 10. Zak will be featuring AzPrism’s new equipment in an upcoming episode.
For more information on the new IR flashlight, or to purchase the equipment, please visit the AzPrism website at http://www.azprism.com/ir_flashlight.html. Or contact Bryan Abel at (602) 908-3021.

Future investigations and group meeting
As most of you are aware I have been sending emails left, right and centre!
Our forthcoming year is set to be a busy one with some new investigations and the good old favourites.
Hopefully most of you will be able to attend the next group meeting so we can discuss where the group is going over the next few months.
Paranormal Gear - Sony H9 Cybershot Digital Camera
My latest toy is the Sony H9. It is an 8.1 mega pixel digital camera but the best bit? It has full night shot mode - the same that you find on Sony's excellent camcorder range.
The camera takes photos in zero light so no more shouting 'Flash' just before you click the button. The images still have the same green tinge th
at you find on the camcorders.
I have yet to use it on an investigation but will post images on here as soon
as I do.
Pic using the Night Shot function
The Ancient Ram Inn
Interest in the Ram Inn has been fantastic so I will be organising an investigation there over the summer months.
I will let you all know more once I speak to John end of this week.
Michelham Priory Investigation
The date for this has finally been set and we only have a couple of places left. If you are interested in joining us then please head on over to the main website - www.cp-i.org.uk - and send me an email.
Blog change
Some of you will notice that we are no using different software for the C.P.I. blog.
This was done for numerous reasons but the main one is that I will now be able to post live updates from investigations using my iPhone!
Will hopefully test this function when we visit Michelham - as long as I can get a mobile phone signal there.
